About Finca Juan Diego

Pluma Hidalgo, Oaxaca, is a small municipality located in the coastal region, on the border between the coast and the mountains, at an altitude of 1300 m to 1700 m. It is characterized by the production of coffee known nationally and internationally, the only place where Pluma type coffee is produced. Also known for its natural beauty, its climate, and its people.

Several hectares in size, Juan Diego Farm plants various products, mainly coffee, cocoa, soursop, banana, passion fruit, as well as a pond where tilapia is grown. People from the Pluma Hidalgo community are employed, helping the economy of the community.  What is planted is organic, the fertilizers are made with compost, as well as chicken manure, and cow manure. It is located towards the southwest area at the altitude of the Pluma Hidalgo community, approximately 60 minutes away.

Filadelfo Ramirez Ordaz, coffee producer, brings his love for the countryside and for planting coffee, which comes from generation to generation, passed down from his father Mr. Wenceslao Ramirez Cortez. He worked all his life as a manager of the EUREKA farm, and was the one who transmitted the art of planting.  Caring for the land for coffee production, Filadelfo later bought the Juan Diego farm, thus starting his own planting and production. Mr. Filadelfo has dedicated his entire life to preserving the countryside, cultivating the land and giving prominence and recognition to pluma coffee.
